"Mauro Severoni nasce a Roma nel 1967, dopo gli studi in Elettronica, intraprende la professione di tecnico del suono, campo in cui tuttora opera, e nel 1991, durante la grave malattia di suo padre, inizia a cimentarsi nella pittura riproducendo volti noti in bianco e nero. Affronta i colori a olio in poche circostanze, per rivolgersi definitivamente all’acrilico, materiale che rispecchia il suo carattere istintivo e che si ritrova nei tratti e nei colori degli ultimi tempi. Gli argomenti che affronta sono variabili e anche lo stile muta nel tempo, passando dal figurativo ai paesaggi per approdare negli ultimi tempi all’astratto, con cui racconta aspetti sociali, immateriali o semplicemente l’utilizzo dei colori a macchie come piacere visivo. Ogni quadro rappresenta una sua profonda riflessione sugli aspetti della vita, sia personale che sociale, che lo investono e lo predispongono alla pittura. Il connubio tra la passione per la pittura e la professione sono il propulsore, il sostegno e l’immagine di Mauro Severoni seduto nel suo laboratorio davanti le tele con la musica in sottofondo. La musica come un pennello invisibile che guida le sue scelte cromatiche. Il percorso artistico lo sta portando verso l’utilizzo di nuovi materiali sia per le tele sia per la realizzazione delle cornici che sono parte integrante delle sue opere. Il prossimo lavoro messo in cantiere intende tradurre in quadri le poesie scritte dall’autore, raccolte in un libro dal titolo “Parole e colori”, raggiungendo la mente di chi guarda anche attraverso la lettura o l’ascolto dei testi.
