ENZO NASILLO - ORIZZONTI CONTEMPORANEI

In Roberto Guglielmino’s art expressive forms, explanatory models and communicative intentions coexist and are identified through the use of colour -even if it is not the only medium - to illustrate the concepts, distortions and aberrations that connect their maker to the surrounding environment – environmental issues which are increasingly given importance around the world.

It is no coincidence that the iconography released from Guglielmino’s hand crystallizes neuroses: inner conflicts are highlighted, communication gaps are stigmatized (subtly distorted by modern technological tools) in abstract forms that reference all areas of contemporary society, such as material wealth, increasingly sought after and deadly in its consequences.

What are the emblematic testimonies (at the core of his elaborate works) The painting “Gold, Happiness...Hell #2” shrewdly explores how clever these are, which was also highlighted in the past by its predecessor, and “Mr. X” that probably offers (among many) two main interpretations: that which is the alter ego of the creator, or that relating to misrepresentation and the camouflaging of his own identity and the anonymity available to him within his own circle.
