​Franco Garuti was born in Modena on 10/10/1963. From an early age he exhibited outstanding artistic skills, and at the age of only ten he already painted his first oil paintings. At the age of thirteen he won first prize in an impromptu event organized by the patronage of the municipality of Modena. At the age of fifteen he attended the studio of Professor and Maestro Enrico de Pietri of Modena for two years, deepening the various techniques of drawing and painting. He then attends the Venturi Art Institute of Modena, where he has Master Gianfranco Passoni as a professor of life drawing. In 1981 he finished his studies at the Institute of Art with the diploma of Master of Art. Over the years he has participated in several collective and personal exhibitions, biennial obtaining awards, prizes and plaques. He has been appreciated by collectors and critics including, Franco Bulfarini, Antonio Castellana, Sergio Poletti and Michele Fuoco. In 1998, together with friends he contributed to promoting the cultural center “La Bottega Degli Artisti” in Ravarino Modena as a teacher. His works can be found in both public and private collections in Italy and abroad
