Ambrogio Leo , born in Abbiategrasso on July 29th , 1965.
I started painting at the age of 6 till I was 14.
As a child my teachers in Primary and Middle school noticed I was extremely talented in art .
I participated in several local school art competitions during that time , winning lots of awards. I then stopped and returned to painting in 2018 , after 40 years of abandonment.
I started off again as a self-taught painter. I felt an inner urge to try and paint again , to be in the game once more after many years spent away from it. I then decided to take up private courses. In 2019 I attended a course on XVth century frescos in the village of Morimondo. This pushed me to the experience with fresco painting , focusing myself on XVth century Cistercian techniques. I also started to attend simultaneously other classes on watercolors, graphite and acrylic paints on canvas . I was far more interested in the techniques of the masters of Renaissance and in those techniques of the end of the 1800s and beginning of the 1900s, in which French painting mingled with the Italian one.
My intense desire for perfection led me to search for more professional courses that would help me acquire the academic basic skills in painting. I finally found a private school in Milan that offered a support course in academic style, human depiction, human anatomy , marble plaster casts and the study of color in oil materials.
I participated in several painting exhibitions in the city where I currently live . Besides I participated in the 2020/2021/2023 editions of Mestre Prize , reaching good positions in the ranking among the participants. I also took part in the contemporary pictorial edition of :

Art Now in Budapest
Art Now in Paris.
Lately I have participated in the editions of :
We paint in Vienna
We paint in Madrid
and in the last event , Pitturiamo, the Milanese edition with European artists I was awarded the TOP select certificate as one of the 20 best artists of the selection of prize winners .
