Anthony Borzillo Lloyd
Anthony Borzillo Lloyd is the artistic pseudonym of Antonio Borzillo.
Really it is possible to assert with certitude what Anthony Borzillo Lloyd has always painted or drawn; he has had that natural predisposition of seeing the space around him and of fix it immediately on the paper or, still better, on a cloth.
The environment that is around becomes for him an habitual continuity with his emotional sensitiveness, in a so direct way that from the simple observation through the imagination passes instantly to the gesture that then represents it and fixes it on the time.
He has studied from much young painting, already like shop pupil, almost as in a Renaissance history, and from here, he has drawn the bases of his technical expression abilities, but he has then continued his formative run becoming at last an architect.
And it is peculiar with the architecture that Anthony consolidates without any doubt a very narrow and important report; the architecture is in fact peculiar, there are the buildings, and in his totality the city with his enthralling and frenetic life representing his true artistic inspiration.
And it is a vision, which simple and contemplative soon become little by little more and more refined and complex in a whirling of lines, of runs and of traces that in the last works reaches an expressive completeness that really it moves: it is not any more an empty walling container, it is not a simple whole of constructions, but it is a complex materiality that also without the human figure, returns perfectly the strength and the power of the city completely.
There is the crowd, the noise, and before, the noise of the traffic and of our modern life that develops and moves between the contemporary palaces in iron and in glass that in Antonio's brushstrokes they contort and they liven up of an own incredible energy.
And there is peculiar the life, this our life of every day, with his rites and his simple repetitions that the mind of an architect manages to pick and to explore more and more in the depth; and it is the movement, our running at a place to other that in the attentive and investigating look of the painter is interspersed and decomposed in a contemporaneity of vision what it relates to us all the anxiety of our today's background.
We must thank therefore Anthony and his history of formation in order that, through the study it is of the depiction of which of the architecture it has managed to develop a completeness of expression that goes beyond the simple repetition of the reality, but that enters and investigates directly in our daily paper and in that of the city in sense side, that is, to up to purpose,
analyses with great depth the same life.
