Claudio Fiori - contemporary painter

born in 1957

since a very young age I fell in love with the magic of Art simply by watching my elder brother Bruno having a go with the watercolor technique.

Watching the transformation of a white piece of paper into a landscape using only some water dirtied by pigments started the most important motivation for the rest of my life.

I attended many art schools for example the Liceo Artistico di Brera in Milan, the Liceo Statale Artistico II , the the evening courses at the Castello Sforzesco also in Milan and many others.

being my primary interest not really a diploma my choices where dictated more by the teacher wich would impart me his knowledge as for example, Bartolini, Faini, Cottarelli Pigoli and so on.

In the second half of the 80's I went in India attracted by that culture and characters as ladies wearing veils as Madonnas or saints with long beards  as we can see in our cathedrals.

Of course I've exhibited my works there in places such as the Kala Academy in Panjim Goa, the Coomaraswami hall at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastu in Mumbai or the Jawarlal Bhavan in Jaypur.

I admit that I was not very keen into the recording of those events and now the memories of places and dates are now a bit mixed up.

My techniques are from the most traditional ones as oil on canvas to the one more contemporary as Digital.

In my opinion contemporary artist have a duty to experiment with the new medias given by living in this XXI century.

now I'm back in Italy and very open to new expressive experiences.
