Massimo Mancuso
The landscapes represented with particular technical grandeur characterize most of the production of Massimo Mancuso, painted stories: mountains, waterfalls, ocean-views watched by a window, sunsets and nocturnes that offer a detailed search for descriptive details. The work entitled "Walk to Sidi Bou Said" differs from other landscapes, for the introduction of the human element in the composition, but above all for the synthetic and stylized way with which all the elements that make up this beautiful rejuvenating glimpse of Tunisian atmospheres. The agile brushstrokes give a well-studied perspective and offer a very harmonious overall harmony. In this work, the meticulous description of the details leaves room for a clear and airy view, flooded by the light gliding over the whites and the turquoise of the Moorish houses; that same light that in the spring of 1914 renewed the enthusiasm for the color of Paul Klee traveling on these same Tunisian roads. Once again these scenarios have led to a renewal and an inspiration from which Massimo Mancuso has drawn a splendid piece of painting. (Leonarda Zappulla)
