Simona Jacqueline - Maestra contemporanea - Artisti affermati
Born and raised in Northern Italy with a strong international inclination, Simona Jacqueline is a rising self-educated artist who has put her creative soul into action through the painting of unpredictable subjects, ranging from very personal and sentimental themes to the public and politics fields.
Graduated in Classical Studies and then in Law, it was only in her adulthood - while pursuing her career in the latter sector - that her artistic production did concretely manifest, in a natural, spontaneous and totally unexpected way. Finding herself by chance in front of a canvas and acrylic colors, the urge to deepen her bare hands in the raw colors and then onto the raw canvas did suddenly catch her only a few years ago, in 2016, and it never abandoned her ever since.
As a result of the above, Simona Jacqueline’s first paintings feel like explosions: they are pretty dramatic, chaotic and - most importantly - abstract. They are paintings where the subjects represented (if any), or rather the emotions represented, show as (apparently) random eruptions.
These paintings symbolize irrationality, instinct and the brain’s total lack of control over the subject, the latter being a feeling, a state of mind or - more in general - emotions.
On the other hand, there’s the artist’s alter ego, who - later on - gave such feelings, states of mind, principles and emotions a shape that could possibly reach the most.
This latter is a more rational and controlled kind of art, where the artist’s heart stays the same, but is given a figure that anyone can perceive.
Both Simona’s “heart art” and “mind art” are dominated by vivid and texturized colors, which mostly fade each into the other to result in the painting as a whole.
Such intensity of colors, together with the texture of her paintings, are two of the main features of Simona Jacqueline’s overall art.
Over the years, not only painting but also photography gained an important role in the artist’s life: a type of photography which is reflection and - at the same time - opposite of her own way of painting.
It is in fact a reflection of the contrasts, the random “subjects” and texturized world she portraits in her canvases.
However, it is also the capturing of details, of figurative subjects, landscapes and everything that makes her catch an emotion, so much so that she cannot help but take the shot and freeze the moment.
And here you have the distinction of Simona Jacqueline’s “heart art” and “mind art” once again, but inverted and present in every photographs: the latter shows in the shooting stage, while the former finds expression in the editing stage, aiming at mirroring the artist’s emotions through the choices of colors, shadowing, sharpening etc. that she decides to adopt, before any of her photographs is delivered to her audience.
Passionate about technology since forever, the artist has recently devoted herself also to digital artworks, simple prima face, but deeply meaningful for the attentive observer, covering emotional and sentimental matters as well as political and “food for thoughts” ones.
Practicing both law and her art, Simona Jacqueline currently lives between Bergamo, Milan and Brussels.
Simona Jacqueline exhibited her art for the first time in 2021, at the prestigious Dantebus Margutta gallery in Rome, in Via Margutta 38, the renowned street of art in the very city center.
As a result, her artwork “Outburst (reboot)” was featured in the publication “Margutta - Collettiva di Pittura Contemporanea”, Vol. 11, October/November 2021, Dantebus Edizioni, available in Europe and US on all the major e-commerce stores.
Just like a return to her roots and the Sicilian blood that flows in her veins, her artwork "Pop Art GRATIA Pop Artis" was on display at the PitturiAmo Temporary Gallery, in Sicily - Caltanissetta, at 12 Via Conte Testasecca, from 13th to 24th November, 2021. The exhibit inaugurated the gallery itself through the two contextual collective showcases “MASTERS: From New York to Caltanissetta“ and “A Collective for Luisa Moncada”, woman of power and patron of the Counter-Reformation period.
It is on such occasion that the other selected artists’ and her art began, stage by stage, its journey throughout Italy, from South to North, from November 2021 to (approximately) July 2022.
Selected for the award “Masters in Milan”, “Fever” is currently video-exhibited on 10 and 11 January 2022 on a maxi-screen at the Manzoni Theatre of Milan, at the attendance of Mr. Angelo Crespi - art critic, journalist, editor of the monthly publication “Cultura Identità” and curator of several art events -, Mr. Edoardo Labini Sylos, Josè Van Roy Dalì and other personalities from the world of art and culture.
