Description

A face emerges from a pink and lilac background, built with fast, textured brushstrokes. The open mouth, dark and deep, is the heart of the work: a scream, a song or a moment of astonishment suspended in silence. Dark curls, struck by flashes of yellow-green, frame a warm face of orange and ochre, marked by touches of aqua green that look like electric light or luminous wounds. The half-closed, intense eyes look beyond the viewer.

An expressionist portrait that seeks emotion rather than likeness: the instant when something is about to break out from within.
