In loving memory of the author’s dear friend Paul and his immense love and passion for the ocean.

If you distance yourself from the painting you can see a heart shaped in the deep blue color which dominates the canvas: it represents Paul’s heart.

The painting hasn’t been worked on through the use of any brush, but only through the author’s bare hands deepened into the acrylic colors. This is a feature that distinguishes the painter’s first artworks from the most recent ones, symbolizing irrationality, instinct and the brain’s total lack of control over the subject.
