The walk
Description
The walk (Camille Monet with his son Jean on the hill) is an oil painting on canvas made in 1875 by Claude Monet. It is kept in the National Gallery of Washington.
The golden glow of the clouds and the vibrant yellow reverberations in the vegetation make us understand that the sun is very hot and that Camille Monet and her son Jean have done well to protect themselves with their hats and umbrellas.
We are in Argenteuil in the summer of 1875 and the painter is fixing on the canvas the hill walk of his wife and son, thus stopping forever that short period of great family happiness.
