Son of Nothing

Description
SON OF NOTHING
“Son of Nothing” is a piece which deals with the recurring theme of incommunicability from an existential point of view. The portrayed subject is a mouth-less fetus, which symbolizes the human impossibility to choose whether or not to be born, with all its consequences. Therefore, the paint expresses a view of life as an obligation to exist.
The chromatic palette is characterized by a layer of black, symbol of the influence which the external world has on the subject even before its birth, and a layer of white, which recalls the aseptic setting in which the subject develops. The hybrid, grey color of the latter represent the conflict between the two previous aspects.
