Under Accusation

​"Sotto accusa" stems from a reflection on the pain caused not only by injustice endured, but by the indifference of those who, faced with it, choose not to see or not to intervene.

​The Pallas's cat curls up within the textured material as if inside a den—a sanctuary that becomes protection against a world perceived as hostile. The raised paw is the gesture of one who, feeling defenseless, is forced to rely solely on themselves for their own survival.

​Pain and defiance coexist in its gaze. The orange streaks traversing the surface can be interpreted as a wound still open, but also as a living tension: a held-back anger that, over time, settles until it turns into resentment.

​The artwork thus tells a story: injustice breeds pain; indifference toward that pain fuels a sense of helplessness; from helplessness comes resentment, and ultimately, the need to defend oneself alone.

​The animal's gaze, fixed directly on the viewer, becomes a silent accusation: not merely "look at me," but "whose side are you on?"
