Acrylic painting on canvas 30 x 40 cm depicting poppies, with unusual colors. I asked myself a question before starting to paint this painting: "Instead of painting them with their original colors, what would happen if you put blue and magenta?", "Instead of making them low, what effect would it give if you made them high?". From these questions, I can say, my painting was born. I decided to make the background almost similar to the colors of the poppies; spreading on the canvas: primary yellow, cyan, magenta, green and a few pinches of titanium white, spatulating it all to create an abstract effect. An out of the ordinary painting as poppies are depicted with those colors, I would say "surreal", in fact I chose to call it "Surreal Poppies". I painted it on a spring Sunday in 2022, inspired by the beautiful season that warmed the days and awakened nature.
