tea set Pinguin
by Boba
Description
This tea set is crafted using the slip-casting technique, employing earthenware as the primary material. The design of the teapot draws inspiration from the elegant and upright posture of a standing penguin. This connection to nature reflects my lifelong fascination with the natural world, which continually informs and inspires my creative process.
The original form was meticulously shaped on a lathe using plaster, ensuring precise proportions and smooth contours. From this model, I created a detailed plaster mold, which serves as the foundation for the slip-casting process. Slip-casting is a method that enables me to create exceptionally thin and lightweight ceramic forms. This delicate construction not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the teapot but also ensures it is ergonomic and comfortable to hold and drink from.
By combining functional design with natural inspiration, this tea set merges practicality and artistry, offering a tactile and visually engaging experience.
