Description
THE EYES OF EVIL
“The Eyes of Evil” is another piece whose main goal is to convey incomunicability in today’s society, dealing with themes such as existential pain and dehumanization.
The subject portrayed is a young handsome man who is staring at the viewer with a helpless, empty look, while his eyes, which symbolize his spirit, are disappearing in the darkness.
The unsettling figure seems to be drowning in himself and, at the same time, he appears completely aware of his defeat, surrendered to a painful existence which can’t be avoided.
As in the previous piece (The Tear), a B&W-only palette was chosen to underline the aseptic atmosphere of the scene and the human alienation from nature, which is mainly represented by the white, abstract background of the piece.
