Ettore Tito was born in Castellammare di Stabia on December 17, 1859. With his mother and brothers he moved to Venice in 1867. Here he attended the Academy of Fine Arts from the age of 12 thanks to his extraordinary artistic skills. His masters were Giulio D'Andrea, Napoleone Nani and Pompeo Mariani Molmenti.
