Description

"Re-enactment of the Landing of the Allies on 9 September 1943 on the beaches of Battipaglia. Operation Avalanche was the largest air-naval operation of the Second World War, second in importance only to the Normandy landings, but not as well celebrated and used to promote the territory. We also suggest listening to the instrumental pieces listed below. Thanks to the Mubat association and the municipality of Battipaglia for this extraordinary event. The project "Mubat and Avalanche celebrations 2017" is first of all a cultural project for the territory but the planned initiatives combine culture, entertainment and promotion of the territory.

The main objective is in fact to promote knowledge of the city's history, especially (but not only) in the younger ones, to build a stronger identity awareness. At the same time we want to strongly tell the historical heritage and experiences that Battipaglia has lived in the past years "
