Birth of Venus
Description
"The Birth of Venus, an icon of the Renaissance, has always been considered the perfect idea of female beauty in art. The work hides a neo-Platonic allegory based on the concept of love as life-giving energy, as the driving force of nature. The nakedness of the goddess did not represent for contemporaries a pagan exaltation of female beauty, but rather the concept of Humanitas, understood as spiritual beauty that represents purity, simplicity and nobility of the soul."
The painting continues on the sides of the canvas, in order to make the frame optional.
