Est in gloria
Description
"Est in gloria" "in glory" represents the glory of the Holy Virgin and Martyr Margaret of Antioch.
The subject of the painting turns his eyes upwards. With his right hand he holds a palm leaf, a symbol of martyrdom; while the left arm rests on a cloud. He wears prestigious clothes from that period (2nd century AD) as his family was of noble origins. Bottom center, a dragon with toothed wings, symbolizing the temptation of evil.
