Description

The painting draws inspiration from 13th-century Tuscan frescoes, but reinterprets the Madonna and Child Jesus in a more modern way.

The aim is to convey the Madonna's serenity, despite her knowledge of the future of her son, sacrificed for the salvation of humanity. The Madonna, in her maternal act of breast feeding the Child, reveals her modesty in a faint smile tinged with a light blush.
