Biography
Alessandro Masuzzo was born on December 23, 1981 in Avola, a small town in the province of Siracusa on the eastern side of Sicily.
His first drawing dates back to 1988 when at the age of 7 he picked up a pencil and a small gray cardboard and drawn his mother's portrait. Already in those years was seen in him the passion for drawing and portraiture, art that will accompany him throughout his life.
He has never followed an artistic academic career and his achievements in hyperrealist portraiture have only come through his arduous self-taught study. He attended the Avola Technical Sales Institute and subsequently the degree program in International Communication at the Italian Language and Literature faculty, constantly alongside his activity as a university student, as a student of art and portraiture.
Though respectful for any kind and style of Art, especially for portraiture, he is firmly convinced that being able to reliably portray reality on paper with a maniacal precision of details (the artistic current known as Hyperrealism) is the goal to which anyone who wants and has the passion for the art of the portrait should appeal.
In his hyperrealism we find all the results of his studies and self-taught experiments, from the study of shapes to that of light and chiaroscuro, passing a maniacal passion for the smallest detail visible in the picture.
