Alexandra Ghimisi - contemporary paintress

Alexandra Ghimisi is a Romanian-born contemporary painter, currently based in Nottinghamshire, UK. A graduate of the National University of Arts Bucharest, where she earned a BA (Hons) in Decorative Arts in 2008, Alexandra transitioned from a successful career in interior design to focus on her passion for painting. Since relocating to the UK in 2016, she has become an active member of the local art scene, exhibiting widely and sharing her knowledge as an art tutor with Inspire Culture.

Alexandra is a member of the National Acrylic Painters' Association, a Fellow of the Nottingham Society of Artists, and a member of the Visual Artists Association. In 2021, she held her first solo exhibition at the Nottingham Society of Artists Gallery, a pivotal moment in her artistic journey. In 2024, she was awarded the prestigious Holbrooke Art Prize, further establishing her reputation. Her work can be found in both public and private collections across Europe, including France, Italy, and Switzerland.
