Christine Hackbarth - contemporary paintress
First I have studied agriculture and have also worked in two companies in this area. But after a while I missed to create something by myself. So I have made a study of Fine Art at the Academy Faber-Castell near Nuremberg.
My speciality are big oil paintings in an abstract way on canvas. But I also use mixed media on canvas. I like abstract landscapes that are standing for vastness on the one hand and vicinity on the other hand. Some paintings you can imagine sitting in an airplane and looking down the landscape where the figures are gone away. You only see colours and forms like in my paintings. And some paintings are really close. They seem to be like a look through the microscope. I have had exhibitions in Germany and other countries like USA, South Africa, Iceland and Czech Republic. I have also been as Artist in Residence in Finland on a small island. Nature is a big issue in my art work. On the one hand nature for me is great and powerful but on the other hand it is also quite vulnerable. And this I want to show in my paintings.
