Description

There has been a church on this site since the start of the City of London, the building has changed over the centuries and you can see some of this in the difference in brickwork, It is situated amongst taller and modern buildings and you could quite easily walk past and not notice this place unless you knew it was there.

What caught my eye and the reason for this painting is the entrance to the church yard, there are many churches that have quotes on them this one on the gate refers to the fact that "all end up here", its the skulls on the entrance that is unusual and rare but the date coincides to one of the plague epidemics, the date on the entrance is 1658.
