In Greek mythology, Calliope is the muse of epic poetry and eloquence. She is represented with the characteristics of a majestic girl, wearing a golden crown, an emblem that according to Hesiod indicates her supremacy over the other muses. Like the other muses, Calliope is the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne (Memory).
