"Coast at Dawn" is a work I'm particularly fond of, born from a moment of pure wonder. As you can see in the file 1000629158.jpg, I wanted to capture on canvas a light that literally captivated me. It all began with a photograph I took myself at 5:00 a.m. on a summer morning: a still, silent coastline, enveloped in a new atmosphere I'd never seen before.

In this panorama, which fits perfectly with my exploration of figurative and landscape painting, I sought to convey the intimate emotion of that awakening. The composition unfolds vertically, following the steep slope of the dark rock that plunges into the deep sea, still tinged with the hues of the night. The true protagonist is the chromatic contrast: while the surrounding nature is bathed in an intense and hypnotic indigo, the houses of the perched village begin to glow with warm yellow, ochre, and violet hues, almost as if retaining the warmth of the previous day or anticipating the reflections of the new sun.

​The oil on canvas technique allowed me to work on the texture of the surfaces, defining with bold yet evocative strokes the architecture of the roofs, the rhythm of the windows, and the majesty of the bell tower in the foreground, all the way up to the watchtower on the promontory. It's a continuous interplay between the imposing shadow of the mountain and the vibrant, yet silent, vitality of the awakening village.
