Death is the 13th arcana, hence the superstition that this number brings bad luck. In fact, both are related when we superimpose the cards. You can see it in their posture. A friendly reminder that every beginning has an end and every end implies a new beginning. We see a skeleton with a scythe pointing down. At its feet, royal heads (crowned), hands and grass. One head is feminine (subconscious) and the other masculine (conscious). The hands symbolize our works, which are those that “transcend” death.
