Description

"...Geordie is a 1966 song by Fabrizio De André. The song is inspired by an ancient British ballad and is based on a real event, referring to George Gordon, Marquess and Earl of Huntly, who was condemned to death for high treason in 1598. In medieval England, poaching on estates and royal reserves was punishable by public hanging, but the young Geordie was granted the privilege of being hanged with a golden rope due to his aristocratic origins. Not even his wife's plea could save him from his cruel fate..."

In my version of Geordie, characters dear to me or those who marked that period of my life are indispensable. The protagonist himself is depicted as a Peter Pan who must face the reality of life and the consequences that certain mistakes unfortunately cause outside of fairy tales.
