Lady with an Ermine
Description
The Lady with an Ermine is an oil painting on wood (54 × 40 cm) by Leonardo da Vinci, datable to 1488-1490. The woman portrayed must almost certainly be identified with Cecilia Gallerani.
In December 2016 the work, together with the entire Czartoryski collection, was sold to the Warsaw government for around 100 million euros, creating quite a few controversies, since the total value would be 2 billion euros. [1] Stored for years in the Czartoryski Museum in Krakow, from May 2012 to May 7, 2017 the painting was exhibited at the Wawel Castle, also in Krakow. On 19 May 2017 the work is moved to the National Museum in Krakow. [2]
