Description

I was inspired by my trip to Paris and Versailles. I looked for a muse for a long time until my research came up with Marie-Jeanne Bécu, Countess du Barry. She is in the center of my painting. To her right is a statue that has his arm protectively wrapped around her. It is an allusion to King Louis XV, who until his death tried to protect his mistress from aristocratic society and the Habsburg daughter. On Jeanne's right side, there is a wallpaper with gold and medusa applications that symbolise society and constant observation and threat. Her dress is in silver, decorated with stars and her own silver Medusa. It shows her strength and individuality. The painting changes with the light and Marie-Jeanne is always in the foreground, illuminating the room. The painting is not yet available for sale because it takes part at the  Premio Internazionale Artista D'europa Firenze Florenz.
