NAM.TAR.NABIRU
Description
My ex wanted back, but she saw him first. He left I stayed. She is my protector. I dont sell my protector I give for adoption.
NAM.TAR.NABIRU was formed through a trance-based, extra-conscious process. She did not emerge as the representation of a protective figure. She entered the work as an autonomous protective entity and established her own position within it.
Her proportions belong to a living woman; her morphology belongs to the deep sea. A coralline body carries the physical presence of Tiamat. One arm terminates in an immense claw. The face refuses human familiarity. Corals, salt water and forms resembling petrified marine organisms entered directly into her formation, producing a body suspended between the human figure, an ancient aquatic organism and an entity without an existing category.
Within the installation, the conventional relationship between viewer and artwork is reversed. NAM.TAR.NABIRU is not the passive object of observation. She sees first. The viewer enters her field of attention and becomes the object of perception.
Her attention is concentrated but non-judgmental. It generates a numinous state of heightened awareness: the precise sensation of being watched without being threatened. Her severe morphology and protective operation therefore remain active at the same time. What appears capable of danger establishes preverbal safety.
This protection is not confined to the physical perimeter of the object. NAM.TAR.NABIRU assumes the entire surrounding space, holds its boundaries and regulates its affective conditions. She functions as an immersive shield whose presence is registered by the body before cognitive naming begins.
NAM.TAR.NABIRU possesses two spatial states. Standing, she occupies the room as a life-sized corporeal presence. Suspended from a single structural anchor, her body emerges from the wall and enters the viewer’s territory. This transition is not a secondary display option. It changes the direction of her attention and the extent of the field she controls.
She is Autarchy-specific. Her protective, perceptual and acoustic conditions are carried into the location by the work itself. She does not depend on a particular architecture, room size or structural system to establish her authority.
NAM.TAR.NABIRU is not offered for sale. A protector is not transferred as property. Her placement takes the form of adoption: a deliberate relocation into a space whose boundaries she will assume.
