Orosei

Description

With this canvas, I wanted to capture not just a landscape, but the tactile and visual sensation of a moment on the Sardinian coast. "Orosei (Sardinia)" is a combination of acrylic and oil on canvas (50x35), a technical choice that allowed me to juxtapose transparency and texture.

I set the composition with a raised vantage point, inviting the eye to wander across the white sand dunes. My intention was to make the dune's texture tangible, where I played with cool tones of lilac and blue in the shadowed areas to define the volumes shaped by the wind.

The spontaneous vegetation, brushed with quick touches of golden yellow and moss green, frames the main dune. On the right, an old wooden rowboat lies abandoned, almost swallowed up by the dune and vegetation. It is a key element for me: it represents the passing of time and the history of the place.

 In the background, I tried to capture the strong chromatic contrast of the Mediterranean: the deep blue of the sea breaking into crests of white foam (in an almost expressionist style) against a dark, cloudy sky, full of energy. The island on the horizon and a small white building create a sense of depth and isolation. It's a painting that, while figurative, leaves room for the emotional interpretation of light and wind.
