Description
PERSEPHONE 130X97
In Greek mythology, Persephone is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter. The young maiden, also called Kore, is abducted by Hades who forces her to marry him, and becomes the queen of the Underworld as well as a goddess. The Roman form of the name Proserpina comes from the dialectal form of this name in the Aeolian and Dorian cities of Magna Graecia. The character of Persephone was reinterpreted in many ways that do not match the figure of the goddess in ancient Greece, for example, in the Renaissance.
