​I titled this work Purgatory because for me it represents the ideal, interior place of transition, purification, and moral and emotional transformation. In this painting, I wanted to convey a key moment: reunion and the strength of closeness.

Through the combined use of acrylic and oil on canvas board, I created a strong visual and symbolic contrast. On one side, there are figures in cool, luminous blue and light blue tones, sculptural and ethereal, almost seeming to detach themselves from the material; on the other, bodies immersed in warm shadows, marked by red and brown tones, immersed in the density of matter and restlessness.

This work was born from the awareness of a profound connection: we have finally found each other. Together, united by love and mutual support, we face and overcome the pains of growing up, separation, and personal evolution. It is the visual representation of a shared journey to finally emerge from the limbo of eternal adolescence and take the first steps toward true emotional maturity.
