Seaview with Tavolara and pink flamingos
by Franco Volpi
Description
The subject, a Sardinian marina, is taken as a pretext by the artist to narrate through colour a novel of nuances, interpretations, details, in a great fresco where the homage to the sea in all its splendour is evident. A tale in layers, in counterpoints of tones and expressive brushstrokes, sometimes in small, delicate touches, sometimes in decisive flashes.
From the decisive waves of the open sea, to the jaggedness of the waves on the rocks towards the shore, in the background the unmistakable outline of the island of Tavolara and the pinks on the horizon accompanying the sinuous flight of a flock of flamingos.
