"Simonetta Vespucci, born Cattaneo, called Sans Par for her extraordinary beauty, was an Italian noblewoman, one of the best known of the Renaissance. Considered by her contemporaries as the most beautiful living woman, she was loved by Giuliano de' Medici, the younger brother of Lorenzo the Magnificent, and by Sandro Botticelli, who made her his muse, making her eternal in his most famous paintings."
