Studio tango 04
Description
Tango sul Molo was created in 2014 from the meeting of two worlds that feel deeply connected to me: tango and the South Pier of San Benedetto del Tronto.
Tango embodies balance, trust, connection and the many emotions that can unfold between two people. The South Pier, open to the beauty of the Adriatic Sea and shaped every day by the people who spend time there, felt like a natural setting for it.
At the centre, a couple dances to the music of two musicians, while a fisherman rides through the scene on his bicycle. Dance, music and everyday gestures follow different rhythms, yet become part of the same shared space.
Transparent watercolor washes allow the paper to breathe. Yellows, oranges and ochres carry the energy of the dancers, while blues flow through the composition and evoke the sea. The figures are already beginning to take shape through fragments of color, anticipating a visual language that would later become central to my painting.
The work belongs to my Life Dances series and is also part of Fragments on Paper, the broader body of my works on paper.
