Terpsichore or Terpsichora ('She who delights in dance') is in Greek mythology one of the nine muses, daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne. Although her attributes are not defined in origin, since classical times she has been associated with light poetry and dance. In some legends she is the mother of the sirens, along with Achelous.
