Description
Julius Caesar's battle scream: "Venus Victrix!".
Sculpted by the celebrated Athenian sculptor Phidias.
"Venus Victor" was the battle cry of the legionaries and in particular those of the legio Decima Equestris, it was imposed by Cesare himself who was convinced that his family descended directly from the goddess. According to the chronicles it was used in the battles of Farsalo, Tapso and Munda or in the Roman civil war (49-45 BC) between Caesar and Pompey.
