Description

For me, blending the beauty of nature with the messy, complicated emotions we all feel, creates a unique experience on the
canvas, bringing the paintings to life. My acrylic painting, titled "arteP" (Petra in reverse), started as a study of a mushroom I
photographed in a cozy forest. But as I painted, I thought of a story about a woman torn between love, loyalty, and tough
choices, which gave the piece deeper meaning. The title references the name of the baby she gave up in the story, which is a
reminder of her difficult decision and what could have been.
I began with splashes of color sprayed with water, creating a chaotic background to reflect emotional turbulence. Then I
added an abstract layer to set the forest’s mood and painted the forest's elements in a more realistic style for contrast. Using
a palette knife I added texture and energy, and the colors—soft greens, browns, and vibrant highlights—reflect the forest’s
warmth and the story’s tension.
My painting is inviting the viewers to reflect on their connection to the world around them.
