Gaea or Gaya alternatively Gaia, literally: "Earth" is the primordial goddess who personifies the Earth in Greek mythology. She is a primordial and chthonic deity in the ancient Greek pantheon, considered Mother Earth. Her equivalent in the Roman pantheon was Terra or Tellus Mater.
