NORMAN Castle of Maiori

Description

In 2005, I painted this coastal view of the Norman Castle of Maiori, on the picturesque Amalfi Coast. The work captures the essence of a place where ancient history meets the majesty of nature. Using oil on canvas, I worked to convey the solidity of the fortress's ancient stones and the vitality of the Adriatic Sea, its white waves crashing against the rocky shore. The composition is imbued with a diffused light, and in the background, the delicate coastal hills can be glimpsed, bathed in a pale mist, enveloping the landscape in a suspended and serene atmosphere. The textured textures of the oil colors define the architectural details and the power of the water.
