In our inherent drive to be benevolent and supportive, we often extend ourselves in the hopes of garnering approval or gratification, only to find that our altruism can be exploited. At times, individuals' insatiable selfish desires and aspirations for personal gain overshadow their sense of empathy and consideration for others, leading them to manipulate and take advantage of those who offer assistance.
